Geltrú Traditional Festival 2025

After the Festa Major of Vilanova i la Geltrú comes the Festa Major of la Geltrú.

Below, we present the program of activities for the Festa Major of la Geltrú, organized by the la Geltrú Neighbors’ Association, with the collaboration of local businesses and the support of the Vilanova i la Geltrú City Council.

THURSDAY, August 7

7:00 PM – Opening speech of the Festa Major by Pep Falcó, at the church of la Geltrú, accompanied by the Montcada Brothers fanfare.

Afterwards, raising of the senyera flag with the Montcada Brothers fanfare and the drummers of the Dragon of la Geltrú.

FRIDAY, August 8 

8:30 PM – Small Diablesses Correfoc. Participants: Diablesses of la Geltrú, Diables of Terrassa, Diables Canyafocs, Diables of Castellbisbal, 7 Deadly Sins.

Route: Assumpció Square, Torre Street, Font i Gumà Square, Archbishop Armanyà Street, Sagrat Cor Square, Argenteria Street, Pujada del Cinto, Lledoners Square, Josep Mascaró Street, Sitges Street, Barcelona Street, Bonaire Street, Lledoners Square, Roques Street, Terrissaires Street, Castell Street, Assumpció Square.

SATURDAY, August 9

12:00 PM – Musical vermouth at Lladoners Square, organized by Lotus.

6:30 PM – Gathering of the beasts participating in the Tomb de Foc (special 30th anniversary edition) at the Association of Students Workers Square.

Participants: Dragon of Valls, Dragon of Terrassa, Sant Roc Dragon of Tarragona, Virgília of Torredembarra, Fumera Dragon of Badalona, Dragon of Olivella, Lo Carranco Bilandó Dragon of Cervera, Small Dragon of la Geltrú, and Dragon of la Geltrú.

10:00 PM – Infernal show with the Cabró, the Malèfica, and other beings (Presented by the 4 Gats company), at Font i Gumà Square (Castell de la Geltrú).

Afterwards, Tomb de Foc (special 30th anniversary edition), with the Cabró, the Malèfica, and other beings accompanied by the drummers of the Ball de Diables de Ribes Colla Jove and the Ca Cèrber of the Tomb de Foc, which returns after several years of absence.

Participants: Dragon of Valls, the Dragon of Terrassa, the Sant Roc Dragon of Tarragona, the Virgília of Torredembarra, the Fumera Dragon of Badalona, the Dragon of Olivella, the Lo Carranco Bilandó Dragon of Cervera, the Small Dragon of la Geltrú, and the Dragon of la Geltrú.

7:00 PM – Evening of havaneras with the group Rom Cremat at the Association of Students Workers Square.

THURSDAY, August 14

12:00 PM – Explosion of the 12 morterets at the Castell de la Geltrú.

Afterwards, bell ringing and The Challenge (Competition between the Mula Guita and the Mulassa Presumida of Vilanova).

9:00 PM – Outdoor dinner in the streets of la Geltrú.

11:30 PM – Vigil dance with Sons de l’Hort, DJ Dani BLZ, and DJ Sotosan at Assumpció Square. Organized by Diablesses.

FRIDAY, August 15

8:00 AM – Morning bugle call through the streets of la Geltrú.

9:00 AM – Call to the festival by the Dragons and Diablesses of la Geltrú through the streets of la Geltrú.

10:30 AM – Festa Major service at the church of Santa Maria de la Geltrú.

Afterwards, Espígol parade with the participation of Founders of the Diablesses of la Geltrú, Small Diablesses of la Geltrú, Diablos of Vilanova, Demons of Baix-a-mar, Tigre Dragon, Barrina Dragon, and twin dragons of la Geltrú, Carpa and porró, Carpetes, Mula Guita, Mulassa Presumida, Giants of la Geltrú, Saint Anthony Dance, Stick Dance of la Geltrú, Cotonines Dance, Moixiganga of la Geltrú.

10:00 PM – Festa Major concert with Jordi Vidal at Assumpció Square.

SATURDAY, August 16

10:30 PM – Infernal tronada of the Diablesses of la Geltrú with the participation of Diablesses of la Geltrú, Diables of Vilanova, Lekittoko Desbruak (Basque Country), Diables of Terrassa, Diables of Voramar, 7 Deadly Sins, Canyelles.
